Video: Trump’s Dallas Departure Delayed After Air Force One Evacuation Slide Deploys

President Donald Trump’s departure for Dallas was delayed Wednesday after an inflatable evacuation slide deployed aboard Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews.

Trump remained at the Maryland military base while personnel inspected the slide on the Qatar-donated aircraft.

“They’re checking the slide,” Trump told reporters. “They want to make sure everything works perfectly.”

Cause of Air Force One Slide Deployment Unclear

It was not immediately clear why the evacuation slide deployed or whether it was activated accidentally during preparations for departure.

No emergency or injuries were reported, and officials did not immediately announce whether the aircraft would be cleared to continue the flight or replaced.

Trump was scheduled to travel to Dallas to attend a Republican convention focused on the upcoming midterm elections.
