Life-Threatening Flash Flooding Triggers Rescues in Kentucky and Virginia

Life-threatening flash flooding and water rescues continue across Knott and Letcher counties in Kentucky and parts of western Virginia tonight.

Up to Four Inches of Rain Possible

An additional 2 to 4 inches of rain could fall on already saturated terrain, keeping creeks, rivers and mountain roads dangerously flooded well after midnight.

Residents Urged to Stay on Higher Ground

Residents should remain on higher ground and avoid driving on dark or flooded roads. Never attempt to cross moving floodwater.
