Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Yulee and Fernandina Beach, Florida

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Yulee, Fernandina Beach and Amelia City, Florida, until 4:15 p.m. EDT Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail, creating a risk of damage to trees, power lines, vehicles and unsecured objects.

The warning area includes approximately 55,242 people, 14 schools and one hospital, covering portions of Nassau County and Amelia Island.

Residents in the affected area should move indoors and stay away from windows until the severe storm has passed.
