Tornado Warning Issued for Streator, Illinois, as Radar Indicates Possible Tornado

A Tornado Warning is in effect for Streator, Illinois, until 11:45 p.m. CDT Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Radar has indicated a possible tornado in the warned area, with pea-sized hail also possible as the storm moves through the region.

The warning area includes approximately 10,951 people, four schools and one hospital, with Streator and areas toward Grand Ridge potentially in the storm’s path.

Residents should take shelter immediately in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and remain sheltered until the threat has passed.
