A missing British hiker who was last seen desperately trying to save his girlfriend from horror flooding in Majorca that killed her has also been found dead.
Sarah Jane Thompson, 26, was found dead on Wednesday in the Torrent de Pareis region of the Tramuntana mountain range after sudden floods swept the holiday hotspot. A huge search and rescue operation was launched for her 32-year-old missing boyfriend Alexander Johnson, who disappeared along with her on Tuesday.
On Friday the search continued for Mr Johson in the canyon known as the Torrent de Pareis. And just after 11.15am local time a Civil Guard spokesman said: “The Civil Guard has found the body of a young man which pending official identification, corresponds to that of the man who disappeared on Tuesday while he was hiking in the Torrent de Pareis.”
