Tragic Discovery in West Valley City: Five Family Members Found Dead in Home

The West Valley City police found five members of a family deceased inside their home in the area of 3700 S Oxford Way after a welfare check prompted by a family member’s concerns. The incident unfolded after a female family member failed to show up for work, leading to the discovery of an injured 17-year-old in the garage.

This began when a family member called for a welfare check last night due to not hearing from the female resident for a couple days. Officers responded but received no answer at the door. The situation escalated when the woman did not appear at work today, prompting the family member to revisit the residence. There, they found a 17-year-old male, identified as a son, in the garage with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Police were called back to the scene this afternoon. Upon entry, police discovered five deceased individuals inside the house, identified as a 42-year-old male, a 38-year-old female, an 11-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old girl. The circumstances surrounding the deaths are under investigation, with no immediate details released on how the tragedy occurred.
