Explosions heard after fire breaks out at Mold chemical factory as locals warned to close windows

Loud explosions have been heard after a fire broke out at a chemical factory in North Wales, with police asking residents to keep all their doors and windows closed.

North Wales Police said: “Due to an ongoing incident at Synthite in Mold can all residents in the Mold area please keep their doors and windows closed. Note that the A541 is closed from the junction with Dreflan to the junction with Black Brook Road Rhyd y Goleu.”
