Fayetteville NC police are investigating after one person was killed and three others injured in a shooting

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that occurred along the 1500 block of Slater Avenue on October 21, 2023.
At approximately 9:27 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a shots fired notification from Shot Spotter and multiple 911 calls for reports of a shooting along the 1500 block of Slater Avenue.
Upon arriving on scene, officers were notified by Emergency Medical Service Personnel that 4 subjects were transported to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the four victim’s succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His identification is being withheld until his family has been notified. The other three victims are stable.
This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
