Renfrew OPP identify fatal shooting victim

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has released the identity of the victim of a homicide in the Town of Renfrew.

The victim has been identified as Jonathan Logan, 41, of Renfrew County.

Police continue to investigate the death, which happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on May 19, at a home on Vimy Boulevard, where officers found a victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The individual was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

“The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and remains outstanding,” reads an OPP press release. “Police believe the victim was targeted.”

The investigation is being conducted by the Renfrew OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Centre of Forensic Sciences. Members of the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit are assisting.
