Multiple Injured in Early Morning Shooting on Ocean Avenue in Jersey City

Jersey City, NJ — A violent shooting early Sunday morning left multiple individuals injured, prompting an active investigation by Jersey City Police and Hudson County law enforcement officials.

According to preliminary reports, the incident took place around 1:50 a.m. in the area of 507 Ocean Avenue. Police responded swiftly to reports of gunfire and arrived to find several victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Services were immediately dispatched, and at least three victims were transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. While initial reports indicate that none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, authorities have not confirmed the total number of victims or whether others may have self-transported to nearby hospitals.

The shooting scene was quickly secured with police tape, and additional officers implemented crowd control as detectives began canvassing the area for evidence.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a Black male suspect, described as wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts, fleeing the area. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
