Trump’s Scottish Golf Course

Donald Trump’s new Scottish golf course was placed on lockdown Tuesday following the discovery of a suspicious package, prompting a major police response and evacuation procedures.

Authorities cordoned off parts of the newly opened golf resort in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, shortly after reports surfaced of a suspicious item found on the property. The site, which recently began operations as part of Trump’s international golf empire, was temporarily shut down as police and bomb disposal teams investigated the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the incident: “Officers were called to the golf resort near Balmedie following reports of a suspicious package. A cordon was established as a precaution and specialist teams were deployed to assess the item.”

Guests and staff at the luxury resort were instructed to evacuate certain areas, while bomb squad units examined the package. No injuries were reported, and officials stated that there was no immediate threat to the public outside the premises.

The resort, known as Trump International Golf Links, has been the subject of political and environmental scrutiny since its inception. This incident adds a new layer of controversy and concern, though the nature and origin of the package have not yet been publicly disclosed.

By late afternoon, the lockdown was lifted after authorities declared the area safe. Investigations into the incident remain ongoing, and Police Scotland has not ruled out any possibilities, including whether the package was a deliberate act or a false alarm.

Trump has not yet commented on the situation, but representatives of the resort said in a statement that guest safety remains their “top priority” and praised the “swift and professional” actions of the local police.

The Trump Organization opened the new golf resort as part of a renewed push to expand its holdings in the UK, despite criticism from environmental groups and some Scottish lawmakers.
