Providence, Rhode Island stabbing: One dead, another Injured

Providence police are investigating after a double stabbing. Happened around 12:30 A.M. in the Wendy’s parking lot on Charles Street. Police tell NBC 10 an 18-year-old man died at the hospital after being stabbed in the chest.

An 19-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries to the head and neck area and is being treated at the hospital.

According to police, both victims are members of the UMass Dartmouth football team and were at Mezza Lounge with other team mates. A suspect is currently being held by the UMass Dartmouth Police Department.

Police are still working to find out what led up to the stabbing.
