Second teenager arrested in shooting death of a 19-year-old in Boynton Beach

A second teenager has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old in Boynton Beach in August, the police department announced on Thursday.

The 17-year-old from Lantana was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm. Nigel Beckford, 19, was shot about 5 p.m. on Aug.

8 in the 100 block of Northwest Eight Avenue in Boynton Beach.

Officers working an off-duty detail at nearby Sara Sims Park immediately went to the area of the shooting and found Beckford, of Boynton Beach, who had been shot multiple times and was still alive, according to a previous statement from Boynton Beach Police.
