Air Quality Advisory Issued for Wildfire Smoke

Smoke from wildfires in Mexico is expected to drift into Southern Nevada.

Clark County’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) is issuing a smoke advisory in effect Wednesday, Sept. 16, and Thursday, Sept. 17.

Air Quality forecasters say wildfire smoke originating northeast of Ensenada, Mexico, will drift into the Vegas Valley late Wednesday afternoon and continue into Thursday, increasing levels of particulate matter pollution across the region.

People should take necessary precautions. Smoke is made of small particulates and other pollutants that can aggravate respiratory diseases and contribute to ground-level ozone formation.
