Amber Alert issued for missing Gilmer teen

An Amber Alert was issued Monday night for a missing 16-year-old girl. According to police, Tiffany Nicole Griffith, 16, was last seen Aug.

She was last seen wearing a black shirt, white baggy pants, and black-and-white shoes.

Investigators say they have actively followed numerous leads since Griffith's disappearance.

However, officials say the search has been complicated by conflicting accounts, misinformation circulating on social media and individuals who may be withholding information about her whereabouts.

Officials are encouraging anyone who may have seen Griffith, knows where she is or has information that could assist investigators to contact authorities immediately.

Police also warned that anyone knowingly harboring, concealing, transporting or otherwise assisting Griffith in remaining hidden could face scrutiny as part of the ongoing investigation.

Griffith is approximately 5-foot-4 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
