Grover Beach bank robbery suspect arrested in Paso Robles
A 67-year-old man allegedly robbed a Grover Beach bank on Monday, then fled and was caught in Paso Robles.
Arrest and charges
Shortly after noon, a caller reported the Wells Fargo Bank on Grand Avenue in Grover Beach had just been robbed.
The suspect passed the clerk a note saying he was robbing the bank.
After the clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the bank on foot and got into a vehicle.
Using license plate reader technology, law enforcement tracked the suspect vehicle to Highway 101 and Highway 46 in Paso Robles, where a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the vehicle.
He remains in jail with his bail set at $100,000.
Charges and court proceedings
The deputy arrested 67-year-old Brent David Muir of Bakersfield and booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail on robbery and burglary charges.
“The Grover Beach Police Department would like to thank the Arroyo Grande Police Department, the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in this case,” according to police.
