Four members of a family were killed and two others seriously injured after a fire broke out in a house in the Chavhatgalli area of Belagavi city in Karnataka, police reported on Tuesday.

The incident occurred late on Monday night within the jurisdiction of Market Police Station, coinciding with Ganesh festival celebrations.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was triggered by a refrigerator explosion, which rapidly engulfed the entire house.
