Suspect identified after deadly shooting in Uptown

One person is dead following a shooting in Uptown on Sunday.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says the suspect in this case has been identified as 49-year-old Sean Dell. He’s been charged with first-degree murder.

Police say the victim was shot on the sidewalk near the Spectrum Center on 300 block of East Trade Street around noon.

MEDIC transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. According to police, Dell didn’t get far.
