10 Bangladeshis arrested

Nepal police have arrested 10 Bangladeshi nationals from hotels and guesthouses in Kathmandu's Thamel area over suspected illegal and suspicious activities, according to local media outlet 24 Ghanta Nepal.

Search efforts and public alert

The arrests were made at several establishments, including Hotel Dhaka Express, Hotel D Veda and Hotel Al Rahman.

The arrested individuals were identified as Fahima Akter Hasan, Mahmud, Mahbub Hasan, Ripon Mahmud, MD Karamat Ali Khan, Shahidur Rahman, MD Khalilur Rahman, Arifur Rahman, MD Maruf Mirdha and Mohammad Hanif Mia.

Police sources also said Khatun E Jannat, who is linked to the group, was currently missing.

Search and investigation

The 10 individuals were later sent to the Department of Immigration in Kalikasthan for further investigation and necessary action.

Immigration Department Director Tikaram Dhakal said an investigation found that one of the arrested individuals had overstayed their visa, while authorities were still checking the visa status and activities of the others.

Police sources said the group had been staying in the Muslima Tol area of Thamel and were also being investigated over reports of fights and activities that may not have matched the purpose of their visas.
