Pippa walks again with the help of Pets of Ohio Rescue Team

– Pippa has pep in her step as she happily walks around the Pets of Ohio Rescue Team shelter in Dayton.

Official response and confirmed impact

Just 10 days ago, it was a very different story.

She was found after being hit by a car and brought into a county shelter, paralyzed from the back and down.

Because of shelter protocols she was left in a kennel on stray hold for three days with no medical care, suffering and in pain.

“We basically got the call that, 'Hey, you need to take her or she's going to be killed at the end of the day', and we couldn't let that happen," said Regan Goins, the co-founder of PORT.

PORT partners with county shelters to take in strays and animals on their euthanasia list.

“You get a dog that can't walk and of course, that's the first one on your list to euthanize," said Goins.

Their partner vet, Evergreen in Centerville, took a look at her first.
