Bob McKay, a College Football Hall of Famer and one of best offensive linemen in UT history, has died.

Bob McKay, a College Football Hall of Famer and one of the greatest offensive tackles in Texas history, died Thursday. He was 78.

McKay, a first-team All-American in 1969, was instrumental in ushering in the revolutionary wishbone offense for the Longhorns that helped produce two of the program’s four national championships.

McKay was an NFL first-round draft pick in 1970 by Cleveland and played nine seasons in the league with the Browns and New England Patriots.
