Raul Antonio Escobar-Paz Arrested in Fatal I-285 Road Rage Shooting

Shooting

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Tyler Sieber following an alleged road rage incident on Interstate 285 in DeKalb County, Georgia.

Authorities identified the suspect as 45-year-old Raul Antonio Escobar-Paz. He was arrested Wednesday at a home in Gwinnett County by DeKalb County deputies and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Crash on I-285 Led to Fatal Confrontation

The incident occurred near Buford Highway on the night of July 23. Police said another vehicle struck a truck driven by Tyler’s father, causing it to spin in traffic.

Tyler, who was traveling separately behind his father, reportedly followed the other vehicle to obtain its description and license plate number.

Investigators said Tyler and the other driver left their vehicles following another collision and began arguing. The driver then allegedly shot Tyler before fleeing the scene.

Tyler died from his injuries.

Suspect Held Without Bond

Escobar-Paz faces charges including malice murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, hit-and-run, tampering with evidence and firearms offenses.

He remains in custody at the DeKalb County Jail without bond.
