Bloomington Shooting Leaves One Injured Near American Boulevard
A shooting near American Boulevard and 30th Avenue South in Bloomington, Minnesota, left one person injured and prompted a major police response Wednesday afternoon.
Multiple People Detained After Bloomington Shooting
Bloomington police received multiple reports of gunfire shortly before 2 p.m. Officers from Bloomington and surrounding agencies responded and worked to contain the crime scene.
Multiple people were detained during the police operation. Authorities have not announced whether any of those individuals were arrested or identified as suspects.
Victim Taken to Hennepin County Medical Center
One injured person was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the lower body.
Police described the injury as non-life-threatening.
No Continuing Danger to the Public
Bloomington police said they believe there is no longer a threat to the public.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Police said additional information will be released as the investigation progresses and in accordance with applicable law.
