Camden Police Seek Public’s Help — Jamil Beatty Missing

CENTERVILLE, New Jersey — A 36-year-old Camden man has gone missing from his home on the 1700 block of 7th Street, and police are turning to the public for help tracking him down.

Jamil Beatty was last seen wearing a white shirt, black shorts and black sneakers, according to a bulletin shared Sunday morning.

The Camden County Police Department posted the appeal under its standard “Help us find our neighbor” format, a recurring template the department uses to solicit community tips on missing residents.

Beatty was reported missing from his home in Centerville, a densely populated, heavily renter-occupied neighborhood south of downtown Camden that has seen extensive public housing redevelopment in recent years, according to the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.

Beatty is described as a Black male standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds, with brown eyes and a bald head.

Police say he is known to frequent the Crestbury Apartments, a 391-unit Section 8 complex on South 8th Street in the neighboring Morgan Village section that recently underwent a $25 million preservation and modernization project, per Hudson Valley Property Group.

He is also known to spend time in Fairview, a residential neighborhood adjacent to Centerville and Morgan Village known for its mix of single-family housing and community parks, according to Proximitii.
