Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands Airports Hacked in Major Data Breach

Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports have been hit by a major cyberattack that exposed information belonging to approximately 8.7 million customers.
Manchester Airports Group, which operates all three airports, said an unauthorized third party accessed customer information connected to airport services.
Email Addresses and Phone Numbers Accessed
The compromised data relates to airport parking, lounge and Fast Track bookings, as well as customers who registered for Wi-Fi at the three airports.
Information accessed may include email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registration numbers and postcodes.
MAG said only email addresses were affected for the vast majority of customers.
No Bank or Payment Details Stolen
Manchester Airports Group confirmed that neither it nor the compromised system holds customers’ bank or payment details.
Passwords and payment card information have not been identified among the exposed data.
Customers Warned About Possible Scams
Affected customers are being contacted directly and advised to remain cautious about unexpected emails, phone calls and text messages.
MAG warned that it will never unexpectedly contact customers to request payment card details, banking information or passwords.
Customers should avoid clicking links or opening attachments in suspicious messages that claim to come from the airports.
Airport Operations and Bookings Unaffected
The cyberattack did not affect passenger safety, aviation security or operational airport systems.
Flights, parking services and upcoming bookings at Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports remain valid and continue to operate normally.
