CPD: One dead, another injured after Carbondale, Washington stabbing

CARBONDALE, Washington — CARBONDALE, Ill. — One person is dead according to the Carbondale Police Department after a stabbing that took place in the evening of Aug. 21.

CPD said that officers responded to the 100 block of North Washington Street for a reported stabbing at 10:40 p.m., discovering an unconscious male with multiple stab wounds before they began immediately rendering aid.

Officers also located a second stab victim who appeared to be in stable condition. Both victims were taken to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment.

Officers located and identified the suspect, Romello T. Merriweather, 28, of Carbondale before taking him into custody.
