Two people have reportedly been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of 22-year-old British soldier Liam Potts, whose body was recovered from the River Tyne near Wylam Bridge in Northumberland.
Potts, a serving member of the Coldstream Guards, disappeared after a night out with friends and was last seen shortly after midnight on August 15 near Wylam Bridge. A major search involving police, coastguard and mountain rescue teams was launched before his body was recovered from the river.
Potts had taken part in major royal ceremonial events, including the funeral procession of Queen Elizabeth II and the coronation of King Charles III.
