Vigil to be held in honor

PORTLAND, Maine — PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) — A vigil is being held in Congress Square Park to honor the life of the 21-year-old killed on Portland's Back Cove Trail earlier this month.

Community members are encouraged to bring candles, flowers and signs to commemorate the life of Juju Nadeau, who was stabbed near Tukey's Bridge on the night of Aug.

Investigators say the man pulled out a knife and chased them, catching Nadeau and stabbing her in the chest.

Friday night's vigil begins at 8 p.m. in Congress Square Park. Another vigil will be held in Bangor at the same time.

According to court documents, Nadeau had gone with friends to look at graffiti artwork under Tukey's Bridge when a man on a bicycle got into an argument with the group.
