Man convicted in 2012 shooting facing new gun charge — YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A city man who was sentenced to seven years in prison for a 2012 shooting on the North Side was arrested Friday evening on a gun charge.

Richard LaBooth, 48, is facing charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony, and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. Reports said LaBooth was arrested about 9:30 p.m.
Friday after he was spotted behind the wheel of an SUV that was parked in the middle of Chicago Avenue. When police tried to investigate, the car rolled about 100 feet before stopping, reports said.
