Two Springfield, Massachusetts men charged in 2024 Vermont shooting

RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – Two Massachusetts men face new federal charges connected to a drug-related shooting death in Rutland. Police say Christopher Hale, 32, was shot and killed on a porch on Elm Street in November 2024. But court paperwork indicates he was not the intended target.

Now, a slew of people face charges, including Dylin Wainscott, 30, and Precious Okorie, 32, both of Springfield, Massachusetts. They have already been indicted on a number of drug and gun charges. A new indictment adds to the existing charges, specifying that they allegedly caused a death by discharging a firearm during a drug conspiracy.
