Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Orders Investigation Into Deadly Zamboanga School Shooting

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered a thorough investigation Tuesday into the Ateneo de Zamboanga University school shooting that killed two students, including the teenage gunman, in Zamboanga City.
Two Students Killed
Police said a Grade 9 student entered the campus with a high-powered firearm and a .45-caliber pistol at about 8:30 a.m.
The gunman fatally shot a male student one grade above him before dying by suicide.
Authorities were investigating reports that two other people may have been injured.
School Security Review Ordered
Marcos directed law enforcement agencies to determine how the shooting happened and identify additional measures needed to prevent similar attacks.
He said the government would work with schools and communities to strengthen safeguards for students.
University officials said the situation was under control and there was no continuing threat on campus.
