Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Armour, Delmont and Tripp, South Dakota

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for areas near Armour, Delmont and Tripp, South Dakota, as a powerful storm brings ping-pong-ball-size hail and wind gusts reaching 60 mph.

Warning Covers Three Counties

The warning covers portions of Charles Mix, Douglas and Hutchinson counties and remains in effect until 12:45 a.m. CDT Tuesday.

The storm was detected near Armour shortly before midnight and was moving east at approximately 30 mph.

Large Hail and Damaging Winds

Large hail could damage roofs, windows, siding and vehicles, while strong winds may damage trees and buildings.

Residents in the storm’s path should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
