Flash Flood Warning Issued for Clarksburg, West Virginia, as Heavy Rain Moves Through Area

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Clarksburg, West Virginia, and nearby communities after thunderstorms brought heavy rain to the region Monday afternoon.
The warning includes parts of Barbour, Harrison and Taylor counties and remains in effect until 7 p.m. EDT.
Flooding Expected on Roads and Low-Lying Areas
Forecasters said between a half-inch and 1 inch of rain had already fallen, with up to another inch possible.
Flash flooding is ongoing or could begin shortly in small streams, low-lying areas, streets, underpasses and highways.
Communities Included in Warning
Clarksburg, Philippi, Stonewood, Nutter Fort, Anmoore, West Milford, Lost Creek, Galloway and Moatsville are among the communities included in the warning.
A section of Interstate 79 between mile markers 111 and 117 is also affected.
Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roads and turn around rather than attempt to drive through water.
