Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Oak Ridge and East Tennessee

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Oak Ridge, Clinton, La Follette and several surrounding communities in East Tennessee, with damaging 60 mph winds, hail and torrential rain possible.
The warning remains in effect until 4:30 p.m. EDT Monday.
Storms Moving East
Severe thunderstorms were detected moving east at approximately 20 mph.
The warning covers Anderson and Campbell counties, along with portions of Claiborne, Scott and Union counties.
Communities in the storm’s path include Oliver Springs, Jacksboro, Harrogate, Jellico, Caryville, Rocky Top and Norris.
Damaging Winds and Flooding Possible
Wind gusts could damage roofs, siding and trees. Penny-sized hail is also possible.
Torrential rainfall may produce flash flooding, including along Interstate 75 between mile markers 119 and 161.
Residents should move inside a strong building, stay away from windows and never drive across flooded roads.
