Madison Air Solutions to Buy Germany’s ebm-papst in $5.4 Billion Deal

Madison Air Solutions announced Monday that it will acquire German ventilation technology company ebm-papst in a $5.4 billion deal, expanding its air-quality and cooling business across Europe and Asia.

Major Cross-Border Acquisition

Under the agreement, ebm-papst’s three shareholder families will transfer their stakes to Madison Air. The German company supplies fans, motors and ventilation systems used in air conditioning and refrigeration.

Madison Air said the acquisition will add ebm-papst’s engineering expertise, technology and customer base to its North American operations.

German Operations to Remain

ebm-papst will retain its headquarters in Mulfingen, Germany, along with key research, development and production activities.
