Sydney Towle, TikTok creator who documented cancer battle, dies at 26

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — TikTok creator Sydney Towle, who inspired more than one million followers by documenting her battle with a rare form of bile duct cancer, has died at the age of 26, her family announced.
Towle was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma at just 23 years old and spent the past three years sharing her treatment journey with honesty, optimism, and resilience while raising awareness of the rare cancer, which typically affects older adults.
In one of her final TikTok posts on July 17, Towle announced a partnership aimed at helping improve early detection of the disease.
Her family shared the news of her passing on August 5, writing: “We will always love you so much, Sydney, and are so proud of how hard you fought.”
Towle’s candid updates and advocacy touched millions, making her a source of inspiration and support for many people facing cancer and other serious illnesses.
