Flash Flood Warning issued for Springfield, Chicopee and Westfield, Massachusetts

MASSACHUSETTS — The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Springfield, Chicopee, and Westfield, Massachusetts, in effect until 6:00 p.m. EDT.

Heavy rainfall is causing dangerous flash flooding, with rapidly rising water levels possible in urban areas, low-lying locations, small streams, and roads with poor drainage.

Residents are urged to avoid flooded roadways, move to higher ground if flooding occurs, and closely monitor local emergency alerts. Officials warn that flash flooding can develop quickly during periods of intense rainfall.
