UPDATE: An 82-year-old man died when a small plane crashed in Henry County this afternoon

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Ind. — Indiana officials and the FAA are investigating a deadly plane crash Tuesday afternoon in Henry County.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at a private landing strip near the intersection of U.S. 36 and North County Road 200 West. The small plane crashed upside down in a bean field.

Henry County Sheriff John Sproles confirmed one person died in the crash. An Indiana State Police spokesperson did not share the man’s identity but did confirm he was 82 years old and from Middletown, Indiana.
