Federal immigration operation underway in Dalton and Whitfield County, sheriff says

Federal immigration agents were conducting an enforcement operation in Dalton and Whitfield County on Thursday targeting people with criminal histories and deportation orders, officials said. The Sheriff’s Office directed additional questions about the operation to Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson Lindsay Williams.

Local sheriff’s deputies or investigators are not involved in the operation, the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday on Facebook.
