New Bern Fire-Rescue marks arrival of 2026 Spartan engine with push-in ceremony

New Bern, Craven County — New Bern Fire-Rescue has welcomed a new fire engine to its fleet. Firefighters once pushed their equipment back into the station after calls.

The department held a push-in ceremony for its 2026 Spartan Metro Star, continuing a tradition that dates back to the days of horse-drawn fire equipment.
