Minnesota author uncovering story of rural Steele County schoolhouse

Hard as it may be to imagine today, there was a time when Steele and Waseca Counties were divided into nearly 100 school districts each. Over 60 years after he left that little school, Minnesota author Ron Eustice has set out to tell its story.

On the border of the two counties stood District 78-92, a one-room schoolhouse that served the children of Deerfield Township.
