UKMTO alert: Ships near Ras Al Khaimah ordered to leave anchorages

UKMTO Ras Al Khaimah alert was issued Saturday after several ship masters near Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, reported receiving VHF instructions directing them to move from their anchorages.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations classified the incident as suspicious activity and said authorities are investigating.

According to UKMTO, reports were received from several vessel masters operating in the vicinity of Ras Al Khaimah at approximately 18:50 UTC on October 10.

The advisory did not identify who transmitted the VHF instructions or explain why ships were being directed to leave their anchorages.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

Vessels operating in the area have been asked to remain cautious and report any additional suspicious activity.

The UKMTO Ras Al Khaimah alert comes amid heightened maritime and regional security concerns across the Gulf.
