Tornado Watch extended across North Florida until 6 AM EDT

A Tornado Watch has been extended across parts of North Florida until 6 a.m. EDT as severe weather continues overnight.

The watch includes Calhoun, Dixie, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor and Wakulla counties.

Conditions remain favorable for tornadoes to develop across the region.

Residents should remain alert, stay away from windows and keep multiple ways to receive emergency weather warnings.

If a Tornado Warning is issued, move immediately to a small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and remain there until the threat has passed.
