Las Vegas first responders cite lasting changes after Oct. 1 shooting, led by 2 women

The Oct.
1 shooting left lasting scars on Las Vegas and reshaped how first responders prepare for mass-casualty events, changes that have also influenced communities across the country.
One of the people tasked with helping drive those changes was Kelly White McMahill, who was a Metro Police captain at the time of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting and is the wife of Sheriff Kevin McMahill.
In the aftermath, she was assigned to analyze every aspect of the response to identify where improvements could be made.
