Weber School District to provide grief counselors

1, 2026 — The Weber School District has announced it will provide grief counselors for district students and staffer members after Riverdale house early Thursday morning fire killed a teacher’s husband and three of her six children.
“This morning, we were made aware of a devastating tragedy involving the family of one of our teachers,” the district statement says.
“There are no words to adequately describe the sadness of such a loss. For a mother to lose her husband and three children is beyond heartbreaking.
Our thoughts are with her and her other children, who were injured in the fire.
“We recognize the profound impact this tragedy will have across the school communities where she works and where her children attend school.
We will continue to support her and her family, as well as others who have been affected.”
Grief counselors will be available at Burch Creek Elementary and Bonneville High School to meet with students and staff who may be struggling with this loss, the Weber School District statement says.
