Grayson County names North Texas Regional Airport manager

Grayson County commissioners have selected Kyle Holtz, an aviation professional and pilot currently employed in Concord, North Carolina, to serve as the North Texas Regional Airport’s manager.

Holtz has about 15 years of experience in aviation management and as a pilot, according to Grayson County judge Bruce Dawsey.

“He’s got about 15 years of experience in aviation as aviation management and pilot,” Dawsey said.

The appointment comes after former Grayson County Judge and airport manager Bill Magers was removed from the position earlier this year.

Commissioners advertised the position on multiple aviation industry websites and received more than 100 applications from around the country.

A selection committee made up of individuals familiar with the airport and business narrowed the applicants to 20, then to seven.

Commissioners conducted Zoom interviews before bringing the top two candidates to Grayson County for in-person meetings. “He really sold himself and his personality.

It’s going to be really great for our airport and the tenants out at our airport,” Dawsey said.
