Crash closes I-395 northbound ramp to Shirlington

A crash on northbound Interstate 395 in Alexandria closed the ramp to Shirlington early Monday morning, according to transportation and police officials.

Official response and confirmed impact

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said around 1:32 a.m. that the ramp from northbound I-395 to Shirlington, Exit 6, was blocked because of a crash.

The agency advised drivers to seek alternate routes.

VDOT said motorists could expect delays near mile marker 6 in Alexandria and to seek alternate routes 7News has reached out to VSP for any information on the crash.
