A woman was violently assaulted with an umbrella while riding the train. Police say the incident happened on Sept.

22 at 3:20 p.m. on a number 2 train near the Simpson Street subway station.
The victim got into an argument with another passenger who grabbed her by the neck and struck her multiple times in the face with an umbrella.
The woman was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln with pain and swelling but is expected to recover.
