Man found dead in burned apartment, Atlanta, Georgia fire officials say

Atlanta firefighters found a man dead inside a southwest Atlanta apartment overnight after responding to a reported blaze, according to officials.

Firefighters were first called to the apartment complex in the 1700 block of Stanton Road in Pomona Park for a reported fire at 9:45 p.m., fire officials said.

The fire was contained to one unit and was out by the time crews arrived.

Once inside, firefighters found a man, possibly in his 20s, dead, fire officials said.
