Europe-Wide Raids Target Migrant Smuggling Network Sending People to UK

Police have launched a coordinated operation across Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Austria against a suspected network that allegedly helped migrants enter Britain illegally.

The operation was led by police and prosecutors in Bologna in cooperation with British authorities and supported by Europol.

Arrest and Searches Carried Out in Bologna

Authorities executed an arrest warrant and conducted four searches in Bologna as part of wider raids, searches and seizures across the four European countries.

Investigators said the suspected network had established an illegal system to facilitate entry into the United Kingdom for people who did not have authorization to enter.

Authorities have not yet released the total number of arrests or identified the suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
